This review is for the audio copy of Mindfulness A Practical Guide to Reclaiming the Present, Finding Inner Peace and Awakening by Jeffrey Holloway and narrated by Capt. Kevin F. Spalding USNR-Ret. I obtained this book to rekindle my ability to meditate. I didn’t know anything about the book prior to listening to it. It provided the basis for why it is essential to meditate, some background about the practice and some basic methods to start with to get it going. This will be helpful to me to get me back on track. The Narrator did a good job of reading it. It was easy to understand and his inflection, cadence, timbre made it easy to listen to. I recommend this book and narrator.
This book discusses how mindfulness can be an integral part of your life and help you find inner peace. There are step by step instructions that you can follow to meditate on your own.
Practical no frills tips on mindfulness. Book offers some explanations on the reasons and benefits for doing meditations. Overall, I find it am informative book. It would be better however if more detailed information is shared on the steps required for meditations and how to acheive success in it.
This was a pretty short book, but the content was high quality. The thing I got away from the book is to constantly practice meditation if you want to truly see its benefits. You can't just meditate a few times and call it quits. Chapter 7 really opened up my eyes to creating consistent habits in your meditation practicing. Solid read
